February 1960 four North Carolina A&T College Students went upagainst segregation laws in Greensboro, NC in their fight for equality. They staged a sit-in at a "whites only" lunch counter at the Woolworth. It was the start of the civil rights movement as all across the south, other young black students followed by holding sit-ins. Today that F.W.Woolworth is the International Civil Rights Center and Museum
